In light of the continuing excellent exchange rate and our mutual love of the USA, we're departing today for LA, and planning to drive clear across the country in two weeks.
We're flying with Virgin Australia on a B773. Check in was a breeze, but didn't open til 3 hours prior to departure. As silver Velocity members, we had our own check in lane, something that has been removed in domestic land. We asked for and were given exit row seats, at no extra charge, and priority bag tags.
Very happy travellers.
The duty free always allows us an airport worker discount of 10% when we show our ID, so we use the time prior to boarding to pre-purchase goodies for our homecoming.
